This movie is a classic! I still enjoy watching this as an adult as I did when I was a kid. I also love how it still that has appeal to children today as well. Love this movie!

This has got to be one of my favorite all time movies. It's wonderful to see how peoples differences were overlooked and how much they looked after each other. It was funny, exciting, scary, romantic, childish, adventurous and heart warming. You laughed and cried. You never knew what was around the next corner....

This is a film that is fun for the whole family. It is a perfect mix of humor, drama and adventure. It is one that I like to watch again and again and cannot wait to share with my children.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Goonies - Great Family Movie, 5.14.2012

I guess we haven't seen the DVD version in awhile and it's been a LONG time since I saw it originally in the movies. I was surprised by the few "choice" words used by the kids, but again, there was no PG-13 back in the 80's! :) Goonies is a great family movie adventure. A band of misfit kids go out on an adventure looking for One Eyed Willie's pirate treasure. Steven Spielberg did an excellent job and it is a movie for everyone, that you can watch again and again.

This movie has become a classic! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of a few spots containing some expletive language. (The television version surprisingly cuts it out, but we had a fall family movie-fest at church and showed this as one of the selections with a couple small surprises. However it DOES say it is PG-13, so I suppose that could be expected.) With that being said, the overall movie itself is the culmination of what every kid and adult could have ever hoped for as a right-of-passage adventure. The cast of characters is wonderfully eclectic. They are the "Goonies" - an unofficial name to describe their group in which they take pride, but one that could also be used to put someone down by the more elite set of the area. It is, however, the perfect name to describe their combined quirkiness and became an original song in the movie by singer Cyndi Lauper. If you ever found - or ever HOPED to find - a treasure map and longed to follow it until the end - no matter what - to untold riches or disappointment, you'll LOVE this movie. It contains adventure galore - how couldn't it with Steven Spielberg at the helm - comedy, a hint of romance and a driving love on multiple levels. You couldn't ask for more!
