Based on the story by mark Twain, Barbie as The Princess and the Pauper features Barbie in an exciting dual role as a princess and a poor village girl - two girls who look amazingly alike!
The girls' paths are fated to cross when Princess Anneliese is captured and Erika, her look-alike, must try to save her. Can Erika pretend to be the Princess and foil her captor, the evil Preminger? And what of the handsome King Dominick, who falls in love with Erika, mistaking her for Anneliese?

Barbie is both the princess and the pauper here in a case of mistaken identity. While I think the barking cat annoys me, the movie is a great way to show girls that fairy tales, where the boy saves the day, don't need to be. The girls can fix things themselves and figure out how to save others along the way. Of course, like most Barbie movies, it's a little overdone, but I won't complain when the message for girls is so strong.

This one of my daughter's all time favorite Barbie movies. I think she has seen it 20 or more times. She loves the barking cat and the horse and the pretty dresses and the music and .... This movies has a good story line and keeps the action and story going pretty consistently through out. A definite great buy for a Barbie loving little girl and a good movie for one who hasn't seen any Barbie movies to get her hooked!

My 3 year old and 6 year old daughters LOVE anything Barbie! They own almost every Barbie movie ever made and this is one of my favorites! I also purchased the soundtrack for this movie and my daughters listen to it daily while they do their chores. This is a Barbie adaptation of the Prince and the Pauper and it is too cute! LOVE LOVE it! Perfect for any Barbie lover and music lover!
